You should also fill open gaps near doors and windows. This will ensure that the hot air stays outside when the AC is running so that it doesn’t have to work so hard.

Get the Water Running 

If you live in an area where the temperatures drop below freezing, you likely need to get your outdoor water running again.

Make sure that the water valve is open for all of your faucets that you want to use outside. Turn the faucets on and let them run for a few minutes to ensure there isn’t any ice blocking the way. If you can stop the water from coming out by covering the faucet with your finger, you might need to call a plumber for help. 

Before hooking up the hose, make sure there isn’t any ice or other build-up inside.

Maintain Your HVAC Unit 

At least once a year, you should be getting HVAC maintenance to ensure it is properly working, so why not do it in the spring?
