Rummy online is an interesting card game played by amateur and professionals for amusement or to win cash. A standard deck of cards (52 cards) and two jokers or wildcards are the main components of rummy. Each card (Ace,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Jack, Queen and King) of the suit has its value/points and importance in the game and so it is highly suggested to the players to know the value and use of the cards.

In all the games of rummy, 13 cards are dealt to each of the players with which they will have to score the targeted points. But players should always remember that less the points in a game, the more is the chance to win.

The numbered cards (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) of the deck have a value equal to the face value whereas the Ace and face cards (Jack, Queen and King) carry a value of 10 points. Jokers being the wild cards have no or zero points.

The rummy rules points system also states the rummy rules pertaining to players. Players are allotted time duration to discard or draw cards. And if the player fails to act or take action within the given allotted time during his/her turn, then the player is assumed to drop out from the ongoing tournament or round. In such consequences, the player is given points on the basis of start drop or middle drop rules.

The rummy points system is all about maintaining a fair and proper play. It also makes the game more challenging and compels players to apply their wit to win. In every tournament, there should only be 1 winner and s/he will be awarded zero points, whereas the other players of rummy accumulate points on the basis of their cards.

Players in rummy online often fail to meld a pure sequence or sets. In such circumstances, the points of all the cards in the hand are added. The maximum points of the cards in hand can be added up to 80 as per the rummy rules.

What if two straight sequences are made by players? Well, in such a condition, according to the rummy points system ‘the points of the remaining unvalid cards are counted.

To prevent fraudulence in the game, a penalty is also awarded to the players. If a player makes a wrong declaration for laying off the cards, then as penalty 80 points are allocated to the player.

Understanding the rummy points system is easy. It is always advised to know the card points and its usage in a better way before you start to play as it empowers your judgement and increases the chances to win.

Canonic Rummy Game Rules

Rummy game rules for 13 card online rummy are basic and simple to understand. The rank of a player keeps getting better inversely with his/her number of points. This means that the winner has zero points and other players have ranks according to their cards. All the face cards and aces have a value of 10 points each. The numbered cards have the same value as their face value and jokers have zero points. In case, if a player fails to take action in his/her own chance in the allotted time, the player is assumed to have dropped out from that current round and points are allocated to the corresponding player as per middle drop.

In a 13 card rummy game, a player has to make two straight sequences, one being pure without joker and second with or without joker. In such cases where the player fails to make straight sequences, points of all the cards in hand are added. Remember, a maximum of 80 points are supposed to be allocated in hand which takes place either when a player does not send his melded cards or in case a declaration goes wrong.

Rummy rules for 21 cards are slightly different on the other hand. The very basic difference being that the player is dealt with 21 cards and it is played with 3 decks of cards unlike 13 cards in the former case. Three pure sequences are a must and rest of the cards can be arranged into impure sequences made with the help of joker of either three or four cards. The 21 card online rummy in addition, has certain value cards which depend on the cut joker. These cut jokers change in every game and so do these value cards.
